Meg Odgers
Hello, I’m Meg and I am thrilled to be able to offer sessions at Yoga Therapy Geelong.
I also work as a Psychologist at Barwon Health, outside of my day job and work with Yoga Therapy Geelong, I study, practice and teach the wisdom of Yoga.
Whilst completing my postgraduate training at Deakin University in 2018-19, I started teaching Jivamukti Yoga classes at Yoga Dojo.
As the research component of my postgraduate training, I completed a qualitative research thesis on the acceptability of yoga therapy when it was offered in addition to cognitive-based therapy as a treatment option for anxiety and depressive disorders. From the stories I heard as a clinical researcher, I appreciate the barriers commonly experienced by people accessing mental health treatments, as well as the thirst for complementary mental health treatment options, like Yoga Therapy, within our community.
I have certification in Trauma-Sensitive Yoga and incorporate trauma informed principles into all of my sessions to ensure your safety and empowerment. You can read more about my qualifications and experiences below.
